Artwork Statement

Through this abstracted monochrome piece Thomas derives a personal connection to landscape through his childhood experiences of growing up on a farm. Farmers Story expresses the passage time and the constant forward momentum of the farmer’s endeavours through process to be repaid in future out comes. The story of the farmer in an arid landscape and the hardship of a life subject to the natural elements is seen in the colour, movement of line and textures in this seemingly aerial view of the land.
